About Me

Over the past ten years, I have helped my students improve their predicted grades and surpass expectations on their retakes.

My love for tutoring started when I volunteered to help at the after-school maths club during my GCSEs. I enjoyed it so much and received such positive feedback from students that I continued volunteering until I started university.

I then started private tutoring alongside my degree in Mathematics at UCL. I tutored students on various exam boards and school levels.

After graduating, I worked as a teaching assistant in a special needs school with children of varying ages and requirements. This helped me to develop a more creative teaching approach and enabled me to find the best techniques to teach different types of learners.

I believe that everyone can succeed in maths given the proper support. This involves making it both enjoyable and demonstrating its applications in everyday life. I was fortunate to have support throughout my entire academic career. I hope to provide the next generation with the help and support they need to achieve their best.

I am also a registered member of the The Tutor Association and my details can be found on their register.

My Teaching Techniques

I provide different types of lessons depending on the needs of the student. Some need help with homework or reviewing their test papers, and others need structured revision when resitting their exams. All students get personalised material for their level and needs.

I use an interactive whiteboard for online lessons. That way, we can work on the problems together at the same time as if we were in the same room working on a piece of paper.

I encourage my students to explain their thinking to me while working on questions. I then provide input when they face difficulties or confusion. This technique improves their understanding and helps them apply their knowledge to future problems.

I teach students many techniques to solve problems without the use of calculators. It helps build their numerical skills and gives them the confidence to approach unknown material without relying on technology.

I also offer academic coaching to my students if required to help them structure their revision, manage their time when doing homework, and explain the best revision techniques for their subject.

I studied various subjects, including Real and Complex Analysis, Linear and Abstract Algebra, Newtonian Mechanics, Probability and Statistics, Financial Maths, and Economics. The wide range of modules that I completed deepened my understanding of mathematics.

Sep 2012 - Aug 2014

I completed 5 A-Levels and achieved an A* in Maths and Further Maths. During my A-levels, I was also a maths scholar and was involved in educational events for local primary schools.

I completed 13 GCSEs and achieved the highest grade in both Maths and Additional Maths.
